Trains that shuttle thousands of passengers between concourses at Denver International Airport were shut down temporarily this morning because of an electrical problem, but all have resumed running.

Airport spokesman Jeff Green said the trains stopped around 10:20 a.m. but were running normally within about 50 minutes. The cause is under investigation, although Green said sabotage is not suspected.

Green said some passengers were led off at least one train car and taken back to a concourse. Buses carried some passengers to their concourses during the shutdown.

Michigan businessman Bob Stocker was one of those stranded. He flew in from Detroit for a meeting and was stuck on Concourse C with no information.

“You would think, after an hour, someone would explain what is going on,” he said.

Workers who couldn’t explain the problem sent travelers to buses, he said, but the buses didn’t come.

“All the trains are stopped,” he said, “and no one can say why or tell us what to do.”

The underground trains connect the main terminal with the three freestanding concourses. Concourse A also can be reached by an enclosed pedestrian bridge, but Concourses B and C are accessible only by the trains.
