Authorities in Illinois notified a Monument family about a body found in Lake Michigan early today.

The parents of Trevor Boehm, 20, were in Chicago this evening, said a woman who answered the phone at their home and identified herself as the missing man’s sister.

Boehm went missing on Nov. 9, when his parents could not find him after they showed up to visit. His electronic card key had not been swiped since Nov. 5, university officials said.

Boehm’s sister said the family had no comment on the discovery of the body in the lake on Chicago’s north side.

Boehm had moved to Chicago to attend nearby Northwestern University. He enrolled in the fall 2007 semester, but sat out in the spring.

The university issued a statement today saying they “continue to be in contact with Trevor’s family and our thoughts are with them at this time.”

The university has scheduled a vigil for Boehm Monday night “to provide an opportunity for the campus community to comfort one another,” according to the statement.

A positive identification is expected Monday.

The body was found about 7:30 a.m. today.

Officials said no evidence, so far, indicates foul play.

The U.S. Coast Guard began searching the lake Thursday after Boehm’s jacket, student ID, cell phone and other belongings were found by university police tucked in a crevice on the shore near the Evanston, Ill., campus.

Boehm’s bicycle, a green Schwinn, has not been located.

Boehm graduated from The Colorado Springs School, a private prep school, in 2007 and was a freshman enrolled in the Northwestern’s School of Communication.

His friends have told reporters in Chicago that he had stopped attending classes or returning e-mail messages before his disappearance.

University police said Friday that Boehm had recently broken up with his girlfriend, according to media accounts in Chicago.
