Getting your player ready...

University of Northern Colorado men’s basketball coach Tad Boyle had only two scholarships available for this season’s recruiting class, and he filled them in the early-signing period when Connor Osborne and Emmanuel Addo made official their oral commitments.

Osborne is a 6-foot-9, 240-pound center from Columbine High School. Addo is a 6-7, 220-pound forward from Northfield High School in Minnesota.

“It’s only a two-person class,” Boyle said, “but it’s as good a two-person class as we ever could have hoped for. Both of these kids are going to be great players for us in the years to come.”

• Wyoming signed Amath M’Baye, a 6-9, 205-pound forward from Stoneridge Prep in Simi Valley, Calif.

M’Baye was born in Senegal, moved to France during childhood and then to Stoneridge Prep this fall. This summer, he averaged 14 points and six rebounds for the Africa Adidas Nations team and 15 points and six boards for the French Hoops AAU team.

The Western Kentucky volleyball team won its 10th straight match at the expense of Denver, ousting the Pioneers in straight sets at the Sun Belt Conference Tournament in Miami, 25-19, 25-19, 25-18. Emmy Davidsmeyer led DU with nine kills.

• No. 7 seed Metro State fell to 0-5 against ranked teams, losing 3-1 (25-18, 20-25, 25-17, 25-18) to No. 7 Southwest Minnesota State, the second seed, at the NCAA Central Regional quarterfinals in St. Paul, Minn.

It was the ninth consecutive NCAA appearance for the Roadrunners (18-10), who have no seniors on the roster.

No. 8 seed Regis lost to top seed and regional host Concordia-St. Paul 3-1 (19-25, 25-10, 25-18, 25-17).
