Hip-hop’s polymorphous roots seem to lend it to diverse bills. From rock, punk, ska, reggae, jazz and folk to more experimental genres, there’s little that sounds bad when coupled with some killer MCs, beats and an amped crowd. That made the openers for Saturday’s show at Boulder’s in Boulder unsurprising.

are far from hip-hop, but the L.A. group’s emphasis on multi-genre SoCal party jams fit just right with Digable Planets. Digable, of course, is the Grammy-winning act from the opposite coast that briefly ruled the country with their ubiquitous “Rebirth of Slick (Cool Like Dat).”
