COLORADO SPRINGS — A 36-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of fatally stabbing his father early Thursday morning, authorities said.
Sean Fitzgerald surrendered to Colorado Springs police after the death of Dr. Edward M. Fitzgerald, 63, at 1349 Lindenrose Grove, said Mark Stevens, a police spokesman.
Sean Fitzgerald is being held in the El Paso County Criminal Justice Center for investigation of first-degree murder, Stevens said.
The victim was an orthopedic surgeon who once led the El Paso County Medical Society.
