CHEYENNE, Wyo.—The Governor’s Office says arthroscopic surgery to repair Gov. Dave Freudenthal’s worn rotator cuff in his left shoulder was successful.
The governor underwent surgery Monday at the Orthopedic Center of the Rockies in Fort Collins, Colo.
The operation was expected to be an outpatient procedure, and Freudenthal was set to return to his Cheyenne residence Monday afternoon.
Secretary of State Max Maxfield served as acting governor while Freudenthal was in surgery.
The 58-year-old Freudenthal is in his second term as Wyoming governor. He’s expected to resume his regular duties next week.
