Bus commuters to Denver International Airport can let their mouse do the trolling for parking spaces during the holidays.

The Regional Transportation District will have constant updates on parking at its 14 skyRide locations across the metro region through New Year’s Day.

“The parking tends to fill up fast during the holidays,” said RTD spokesman Scott Reed. “This is a convenient idea for people to find an open parking lot before they fill up.”

He advised commuters to check www.rtd-denver.com just before they leave home, as supervisors will check lots and update the website throughout the day.

The park-n-Ride lots at Table Mesa in Boulder, Stapleton in East Denver and Wagon Road in Northglenn fill up first, Reed said.

It’s wise to avoid parking at the lots altogether, RTD advises, by having someone drop off a traveler at the lot. Each year, some travelers who encounter full lots park in nondesignated areas, which only results in a ticket or towed vehicle, RTD warns.

Parking can be checked by phone at 303-299-6000, or 303-299-6089 for the speech or hearing impaired.

The cost for the skyRide is $7, $9 or $11 each way. Buses run every 15 to 30 minutes each day year-round from 3:30 a.m. to 1:10 a.m.
