A traffic stop led to an armed standoff with police in Winter Park on Thursday night. Details were still developing nearly three hours after the stop on U.S. 40 near The Winter Park Mountain Lodge, a Grand County dispatcher said.
Negotiators were talking to the person. No shots had been fired.
The highway was closed during the standoff, the dispatcher said.
A clerk at the lodge said residents could go outside and they could leave the area, but they could not return until police gave approval.
