A 24-year-old woman suffered critical head injuries Friday night in a hit-and-run accident in Aurora, authorities say.

After the woman was struck, the driver fled the area at Havana Street and East 10th Avenue at 5:40 p.m., according to police.

The identity of the woman was not released.

Witnesses said the vehicle that struck the woman was a small silver car, possibly a Ford Probe, with tinted windows. The vehicle should have front-end damage and a broken windshield.
