DENVER—An autopsy report says a 27-year-old woman whose body was found in a barrel in a downtown Denver parking lot had a fractured skull and lacerations on her head.
The report released Wednesday says a homeless shelter employee found the body of Esperanza Pardue of Arvada on Oct. 28.
In addition to head injuries, the Denver medical examiner’s office found cocaine in Pardue’s system, and the words “dragon,” “blood” and “I use this” written on her body in black marker.
Nineteen-year-old Ahmad Clewis-Green has been arrested in Pardue’s death.
Authorities say he told investigators he met Pardue in a park Oct. 14 and she agreed to have sex with him for money. Afterward, Green refused to pay, and Pardue got angry and wouldn’t leave his apartment.
Authorities say Green then hit Pardue in the head with a metal pipe and hid her body in a steel drum.
A preliminary hearing is set for Dec. 16.
