The NBA released early All-Star balloting results, and after the first balloting Carmelo Anthony is third among Western Conference forwards.

Anthony, with 327,233 votes, trails San Antonio’s Tim Duncan (442,203) and Phoenix’s Amar’e Stoudemire (370,470).

Anthony was voted in as a starter in last year’s All-Star game.

Asked to comment about the first balloting, Anthony shook his head.

“I’m not even thinking about that,” he said.

The news comes a day after Anthony scored 45 points in a Nuggets win over Minnesota on Wednesday night. Anthony scored an NBA-record tying 33 points in the third quarter.

Nuggets guard Chauncey Billups is ninth among Western Conference guards.
