The 5-inch probe, which slides out of a protective pod, measures a wide range of temperatures, from minus 58 degrees to 572 degrees Fahrenheit. Flip a switch for Celsius readings; push a button to illuminate the LCD display. An accompanying chart suggests doneness temperatures. The alarm beeps for one minute when time is up.
