BOULDER — Police said they arrested three people suspected of growing marijuana inside a house that was consuming four times the electricity of other buildings nearby.

Police said the amount of electricity being used is what spurred suspicions that people were growing marijuana in the house in a Broomfield subdivision. Police and SWAT officers found 44 plants valued at $44,000.

Broomfield police Cmdr. Tim Hersee said a passageway in the basement led to a hidden room where SWAT officers found the plants.

Police arrested Joshua Davis, 28; Jessica Oseles, 25; and Steven Sampson, 29, in a raid Thursday. All face felony drug charges.
