Apparently, the Frederick girls basketball team had had enough. The Warriors snapped a 14-game losing streak Friday with a 73-26 romp over Fort Morgan in Class 3A.

Jenessa Burke, a senior at Highlands Ranch who canned the winning 3-pointer in the 5A championship game last March, went off against Monarch on Friday with a career-high 35 points. The Falcons had a 31-point second quarter in running past the Coyotes in nonleague play.

DaVaughn Thornton, right, East’s 6-foot-5 senior forward, had 23 points and 23 rebounds in a 65-60 overtime loss Tuesday to Eaglecrest in 5A nonleague action.
