DENVER—Heavy snow is on the way to Colorado’s mountains.
The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm warning for much of western Colorado and says 1 to 3 feet of snow could fall in parts of the high country by Sunday afternoon. Gusty winds are also expected, causing blowing snow and drifts.
Rio Blanco, Vail and Aspen are among the areas expected to get the most snowfall. Areas including Glenwood Springs, Eagle and Carbondale are forecast to get between 6 to 12 inches.
Another strong storm is expected to move into Colorado on Monday.
