NEW YORK—In an early version of a Dec. 12 story about a rise in attacks on lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people, The Associated Press reported erroneously that an alleged attack in Tennessee happened in June. Police officers allegedly beat Duanna Johnson in a jail booking area in February, but a surveillance tape was released in June.
