ORAN, Algeria — OPEC’s president suggested Monday that the group was ready to slice deeply into production this week to pull oil prices up from four-year lows and hinted that Russia was ready to follow suit.
Ministers will not say until Wednesday how they plan to prop up crude, which fell Monday to $44.39.
OPEC president Chakib Khelil said a “fair price” should be around $70 to $80 per barrel.
