Fairplay, Colo.—Authorities say a Park County sheriff’s deputy and another driver were injured when their vehicles collided.

Authorities have not said how seriously the men were hurt in today’s crash. A 5-year-old child in the civilian’s car wasn’t injured.

Authorities say Deputy Nate Carrigan was on his way to the scene of a medical emergency in the village of Pine Junction when a vehicle driven by 35-year-old Robert Gonzales pulled in front of his cruiser.

Authorities say Carrigan had his lights and siren on.

Park County Undersheriff Monte Gore says the sheriff has asked the State Patrol to investigate.
