If you follow the action-sports scene, then you’re probably aware the world’s top park and pipe skiers and snowboarders will be blowing it out in Breckenridge beginning Friday at the opening event of the much-anticipated Winter Dew Tour.
With three events scheduled for Colorado, Vermont (West Dover, Jan. 8-11) and California (Lake Tahoe, Feb. 19-22), the series follows the summer Dew Tour format based on a cumulative points system designed to push top action athletes in a season-long competition featuring a $1.5 million prize purse.
That means you can follow your favorite skiers and snowboarders — including Shaun White, Danny Kass, Gretchen Bleiler, Simon Dumont, Peter Olenick and Sarah Burke — at the events, on NBC Sports and in online standings as they jockey for the championship cups in superpipe and slopestyle.
Of course, if you show up in Breck this weekend, you get the added bonus of a free Friday night concert with 3OH!3 and The All-American Rejects, Saturday shows by Savoy and MTHDS, and Sunday with DJ Chonz and People Under the Stairs.
