DENVER—Voters in the central Colorado town of Cripple Creek have approved expanded gaming.
Residents voted 267-13 in favor of more games, longer hours and higher bets Tuesday night.
The local referendum is a product of a state constitutional amendment adopted with 60 percent of statewide voters last month.
Cripple Creek is the first of the state’s three casino towns to vote on expanded gaming since Amendment 50 was approved.
Black Hawk residents will vote Jan. 13 on whether to allow casinos to raise the bet limit from $5 to $100, add craps and roulette, and stay open 24 hours. Central City is expected to hold its election in February or March.
