A series of forums will be held in January to get community feedback on at least $35 million in cutbacks proposed for the Jefferson County School District.

The cuts are needed between 2009 and 2012, school officials say, after voters in November rejected $350 million bond issue and a mill-levy override that would have produced about $34 million annually.

Recommendations on cuts have been developed by the district staff and community budget work groups.

Allison Parkway, Lakewood; Jan. 10 — 10:30-11:30 a.m., Arvada West High School, 11325 Allendale Drive, Arvada; Jan. 10 — 10:30-11:30 a.m., Evergreen Public Library, 5000 Colorado Highway 73, Evergreen; Jan. 10 — 10:30-11:30 a.m., Dakota Ridge High School, 13399 W.
