Getting your player ready...

IRVING, Texas — Once again, Adam “Pacman” Jones is back with the Cowboys.

Thought to be out for the season because of a neck injury, Jones returned to practice Wednesday and is expected to play against the Ravens on Saturday night, both at cornerback and returning kicks, after missing only one game.

“It surprised everybody,” coach Wade Phillips said. “He’s got nine lives. Maybe he’s got 18 lives.”

Jones was injured two Sundays ago against Pittsburgh in his first game after a six-week suspension for violating the league’s personal conduct policy. Tests showed a herniated disc and there was talk of shutting him down for the season, but doctors checked him out again this week and discovered he was healthy enough to play.

Meanwhile, Phillips said running back Marion Barber (toe) will be a game-time decision.

Bush out for rest of season

METAIRIE, La. — Saints running back Reggie Bush was placed on injured reserve because of a sprained left knee. When this season ends, he will have missed 10 games in the past two years with various knee injuries.

Spraying it in Berger’s face

OWINGS MILLS, Md. — Ravens cornerback Frank Walker denied he intentionally spit on Steelers punter Mitch Berger, saying it was an accident during a confrontation during Sunday’s game.

“It was a slobber moment,” Walker said. “Yeah, say it, don’t spray it.”

Berger, a former punter at the University of Colorado, told reporters he doesn’t believe Walker.

“I had my mouth open and was about to say something when he spit right on me,” Berger said. “It wasn’t something that happens by accident when you’re talking sometimes. There was the full noise, he made the full spitting noise.”

Footnotes.

Colts receiver Marvin Harrison will miss tonight’s game at Jacksonville with an apparent hamstring injury, while running back Joseph Addai (shoulder) and safety Bob Sanders (knee) are likely to be game-time decisions.

• Panthers defensive tackle Maake Kemoeatu missed practice with a sprained right ankle, making it possible a defensive starter will miss a game for the first time this season.

• Giants running back Brandon Jacobs, nursing a sore left knee, practiced and is expected to play Sunday against the Panthers.

Also, the Giants placed running back Reuben Droughns (neck) on injured reserve.

• Indignant over another Pro Bowl snub, Redskins middle linebacker London Fletcher stepped out of character and vented his frustration, calling himself “the Susan Lucci of the NFL.”

• Dolphins middle linebacker Channing Crowder was held out of practice with a stiff knee, though he expects to play Sunday against the Chiefs.

• Vikings Gus Frerotte (back) returned to practice and split time with Tarvaris Jackson at quarterback. The Vikings remain tightlipped about who will start Sunday against Atlanta.
