The Denver Rescue Mission needs holiday gifts for children of more than 550 poor working families who are between 8 and 18.
The families have preregistered for the Mission’s Christmas Wishes on Wheels outreach event scheduled for Saturday at The Crossing, a transitional living facility for men, women and children.
The Mission has enough gifts for younger children but remains in desperate need of toys and other items for older boys and girls, said Mission spokeswoman Greta Walker.
The Christmas Wishes on Wheels event will provide presents for families, who otherwise may not be able to afford Christmas gifts.
Upon arriving at the event, every child will receive a bag containing at least three toys.
New, unwrapped toys should be dropped off by Friday, December 19th at the Denver Rescue Mission facilities:
