The Buzz: Memphis QB Arkelon Hall has three 300-yard passing games, but the Tigers lost each. With receiver Carlos Singleton checking in at 6-feet-8, he’s been the biggest threat with 50 catches for 759 yards and five TDs (including 11 for 158 yards against Marshall). . . . With USF ranked ninth nationally in rush defense (97.7 yards per game), look for Memphis to utilize the pass. . . . Memphis has allowed just 16 sacks this season. . . . USF quarterback Matt Grothe has thrown 15 TD passes and 14 interceptions, including 11 picks in the past five games.

The Buzz: Coming off the 24-point loss to Utah, BYU needs its offense to turn it around. QB Max Hall tossed a career-high five INTs against the Utes and threw for just 205 yards. . . . BYU’s starting five offensive linemen average 326.4 pounds and 6-feet-6; Arizona’s defensive front goes 6-2, 259 pounds. . . . Having switched to the spread offense in 2007 after hiring offensive coordinator Sonny Dykes, Arizona scored a school-record 445 points this season. The season before Dykes’ arrival, the Wildcats were ranked 105th in scoring (13.3 points per game). . . . Under coach Bronco Mendenhall, BYU is 33-4 when leading at halftime and 32-1 when leading going into the fourth quarter.
