The Ski Train kicks off its 69th season on Saturday. Day trips will be available Saturdays and Sundays from Dec. 27 to March 29. Friday trips begin Feb. 6; Thursday trips begin Feb. 19.
The train departs from Union Station at 7:15 a.m. and drops passengers off at the ski lifts at the base of Winter Park Resort. At 4:15 p.m., the train leaves the resort and returns to Union Station. Snacks and box lunches are available; the train includes two cafe/lounge cars and several snack cars.
Once at Winter Park Resort, nonskiers can ride the free shuttle service into the town of Winter Park.
The fares for the 2008-09 season are $59 for coach tickets; $85 for club-car tickets (includes continental breakfast buffet and afternoon snacks); coach for youths 12 and under, and seniors 62 and older, is $49. For a group of 12 or more, the coach fare is also $49. Until Tuesday, individuals can purchase a coach four-pack for $169, a savings of 28 percent over purchasing tickets individually.

Top juniors to compete.
The USSA Revolution Tour will be Jan. 14-17 at Copper Mountain. The competition brings together top junior athletes from the region. Superpipe and slope-style athletes 13 and older (Snowboard cross 15 and older) compete together in an open-class-style event.
