Getting your player ready...

Emiko Torito of Denver just missed out on a podium finish at the first freestyle World Cup event of the season, finishing fourth Thursday in dual moguls in Meribel, France. Hannah Kearney of Vermont won the event, her first victory in three years. Michelle Roark of Denver was 11th.

Torito said she was ready to compete after a summer of hard work.

“I couldn’t have been more prepared. I felt really ready,” Torito said. “The first competition of the year has a lot of anxiety because all you’ve done is train and you hope it pays off, but you’re never certain. When you work really hard, you feel more pressure. But it went well.”
