LAS VEGAS—Freshman guard Seth Curry had 25 of his career-high 30 points in the second half to rally Liberty over Northern Colorado 75-70 in the third round of the Las Vegas Classic on Monday.
Curry, the younger brother of Davidson’s Stephen Curry, finished 12-of-21 from field after missing six of eight shots in the first half. He was 4-of-8 from 3-point range for the Flames (8-4), who ended the game on a 9-0 run.
Anthony Smith of Liberty added 23 points, including the go-ahead layup with 1:05 left that made it 71-70. Kyle Ohman had 11 points for the Flames, who twice trailed by 12 points in the first half.
Devon Beitzel led Northern Colorado (3-8) with 21 points, while Mike Proctor had 10 points and eight rebounds for the Bears, who went scoreless over the final 2:20.
Liberty was 19-of-24 from the free throw line, while Northern Colorado was 7-of-9.
