DALLAS — Authorities searched Monday evening for a motorist they say shot at a car and three semitrailer trucks on Dallas-area roads during the afternoon rush hour, killing two people and injuring two others.
The first shooting occurred about 5:45 p.m. in Garland, a Dallas suburb. A pickup truck heading south on a major road pulled up alongside a Nissan stopped at a red light and began shooting, police spokesman Joe Harn said. The Nissan driver was killed.
The pickup then drove off toward Interstate 635 in Dallas, where the driver of an 18-wheeler was shot and injured, police said.
The assailant continued west on the highway, then shot and killed the driver of a United Van Lines 18-wheeler rig.
The assailant then drove farther and fired at another 18-wheeler. The driver was injured by debris but not struck by the bullet.
