CYCLING

Ongoing

  •  Road rides each weekend in the south Denver area hosted by the Highlands Ranch Cycling Club; intermediate to advanced; two to five hours; helmet required; free.

  •  Mountain bike camps, private lessons and clinics with Better Ride; for recreation riders and racers; focus on core skills, balance, vision, cornering, energy management, obstacles, drops, etc.

  •  Road ride each Saturday morning led by the staff of Bicycle Pedal’r bike shops in Highlands Ranch; 20 to 30 miles; weather permitting; open to intermediate and advanced riders.

    Christmas Eve Torchlight Parade; holiday tradition at Copper Mountain; includes fireworks.

    Burton Super Demo; at Copper Mountain; largest consumer demo in snowboard world; free demos of Burton boards, boots and bindings; also new products and interactive experiences.

    Jan. 14-17

    U.S. Snowboarding Revolution Tour; at Copper Mountain; superpipe and slopestyle athletes 13 and older (snowboardcross 15 and older) compete together in open-class event; USSA regional membership required to compete.

    Amputee High Adventure Weekend; in Crested Butte; camp includes two days of ski instruction and two days of pro.fessionally guided ice climbing in Ouray; limited to nine participants; $485. or 866-349-2296
