Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference soccer coaches Tim Hankinson of the Fort Lewis men’s team and Adrianne Almarez of the Metro State women’s team are finalists for National Soccer Coaches Association coach of the year awards.
Hankinson, who guided the Skyhawks to an 18-1-3 record this season and to the NCAA Division II regional semifinals, was voted Central Region coach of the year by his fellow coaches.
Almarez is an automatic finalist because her Road- runners (20-1-3) made it to the national semifinals, where they lost to eventual Division II women’s champion Seattle Pacific.
The awards will be announced Jan. 16 at the association’s annual convention in St. Louis.
