Pennington’s pressure
Who. Chad Pennington, QB, Dolphins.
When. 2:15 p.m. today at New York Jets.
Why. By the time this game starts, the Patriots will have likely moved to 11-5 by winning at Buffalo. That will put pressure on Pennington to beat his former team in his former home stadium, which would lift his current team, the Dolphins, to 11-5 and the AFC East title by virtue of a tiebreaker over the Pats. Pennington was dumped by the Jets prior to training camp in favor of Brett Favre. Pennington has outplayed Favre this season, posting more yards, a better TD-to-INT ratio and QB rating, as well as a higher completion percentage. Such documentation won’t matter, though, if the Dolphins don’t win today.
