HONOLULU—Cory Higgins had 21 points and 10 rebounds to lead Colorado to a 80-63 win Sunday over Coppin State in Honolulu.
The Buffaloes (7-3) shot 55 percent from the field to move into Monday?s semifinals of the Outrigger Hotels Rainbow Classic, where they will play Buffalo. The Eagles (1-9) meet Pepperdine in a consolation game Monday.
Higgins went 4-for-5 from the field, made all 12 of his free-throw attempts and had four assists. Casey Crawford scored 12 points, Dwight Thorne II added 11 and Jermyl Jackson-Wilson added 10 for Colorado.
Michael Harper led Coppin State with 11 points.
Colorado shot 54 percent from the field in the first half, including 3-for-7 on 3-pointers, to take a 36-24 lead at halftime. Coppin State did not attempt a free throw in the first half.
