LINCOLN, Neb.—Sek Henry had 18 points and Nebraska used a 15-0 run early in the second half to pull away from South Carolina State 77-63 on Tuesday.
Nebraska (8-3) has held each of its first 11 opponents under 67 points, the first time the Huskers have done that since 2003-04 and only the second time since 1981-82.
The game was tied at 36 with 17:25 remaining when Ade Dagunduro hit a pair of free throws to start the Huskers’ game-clinching run. The streak ended with a Dagunduro alley-oop dunk that made it 51-36 with 13:29 left.
South Carolina State (5-6) got no closer than 11 points the rest of the way in a game that became a free-throw shooting contest in the final seven minutes. Nebraska shot 26 second-half free throws, making 18. South Carolina State was 8-for-13 from the line in the second half.
Dagunduro finished with 14 points, Steve Harley had 13 and Paul Velander added 12 for the Huskers.
Jason Johnson had 22 points to lead South Carolina State, which trailed by six points at the half but tied the game before the Huskers pulled away down the stretch.
Jessie Burton had 11 for the Bulldogs and Jason Flager finished with 10 points.
