GRAND COUNTY — A father and son from Minnesota who got stuck while snowmobiling in the Colorado mountains have been found and rescued.

John Rocky, 49, and his son, Tim, 20, were rescued early Wednesday afternoon after spending a cold night in the high country, according to the Grand County Sheriff’s Office.

The two men had been in contact with family members by text messages, saying that they were stuck but had started a fire to keep warm.

About noon Wednesday, Rocky Mountain National Park personnel found the Rockys, who were walking out of the rugged area, according to the Sheriff’s Office.

One of the men has minor bruising to his ribs, but both are in good condition, the Sheriff’s Office said.
