Your aching back
If you’ve ever found yourself in the mountains with a back burning from overexertion, a specialty medi-spa might be the spot for you to recover. Aspen Back & Body, which offers physical therapy, training, massage and other non-surgical solutions to back pain and total-body wellness, has single treatments as well as one- to three- week programs for people suffering from back pain. Owner Clint Philips has a background as a chiropractor, and he and his staff work with clients using Gyrotonics, vibration plates and MedX strengthening (a lumbar device), among other tools. Adding to the experience is the medi-spa’s location in the swanky St. Regis Resort, 315 E. Dean St., 970-920-7772.
Custom eyes
If you can never seem to find ski or snowboard goggles that fit your face and your on-slope needs as well as your desire for something that looks different from everyone else, custom shades may be what you need. Oakley is offering two styles of custom goggles that range from $135 to $280. You can build them online and see what they’ll look like by picking your choice of frame, lens color (14 options plus polarization), several strap styles and even etching, where you can have the lens personalized with your name, team, or other feature. The service takes from 5-7 business days and is available at the Cherry Creek shopping center Oakley and N3L stores, online at and at specialty “goggle bars” the company sets up at selected ski and snowboard events.
