DURANGO, Colo.—An Ignacio man has been sentenced to life in federal prison without parole in an August 2007 slaying on the Southern Ute Reservation in southwest Colorado.

U.S. District Judge Robert E. Blackburn on Wednesday sentenced 27-year-old Isaac Headman on first-degree murder and other charges in the death of Clifton Joseph Greany.

Also sentenced in the case were 21-year-old April Watts, 32-year-old Johnita Taylor and 24-year-old Monica Williams, also of Ignacio. Watts was sentenced to 22 years in federal prison, Taylor was given 25 years, and Williams 23 years.

Prosecutors say the 31-year-old Greany had been drinking with Headman and three women when they beat him up, put him in the trunk of a car, drove him to a remote location and stabbed him to death.

The women pleaded guilty to murder, while a jury convicted Headman in September.
