FORT COLLINS — A pedestrian was struck by a car and killed Wednesday night while trying to cross a street.
The accident happened near the intersection of Mulberry and Sherwood streets.
The victim, whose name and gender were not released, was crossing south across Mulberry when a 1996 Ford Explorer being driven by James Epperson, 23, of Fort Collins hit the pedestrian.
The victim was not in a crosswalk and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police do not believe alcohol or speed contributed to the accident, and no charges are expected to be filed.
