LITTLETON — A 90-year-old woman was killed Wednesday evening when the shuttle bus from her retirement center crashed into a pole in the parking lot of the Aspen Grove shopping center near South Santa Fe Boulevard and West Mineral Avenue.
Police say the van was taking 19 residents of the RiverPointe Senior Community to Champps restaurant when the accident happened about 5 p.m.
A woman on the bus was getting up when the wreck occurred and hit her head on a hand rail inside the van. The woman was taken to an area hospital, where she died.
Police said nine other RiverPointe residents riding in the van were taken to area hospitals with non-life- threatening injuries.
