Republican Bob Schaffer, who represents Fort Collins on the State Board of Education, was unanimously approved as the board’s chairman Wednesday at the board’s first meeting of the year.
Schaffer, who unsuccessfully ran for a U.S. Senate seat against Democrat Mark Udall in the fall, has been serving as a board member since 2006. He was unopposed. Republican Randy DeHoff was named vice chairman.
