Eaglecrest 66, Overland 48

Josh Turner’s 16 points led three Eaglecrest scorers in double figures as the Raptors earned a Class 5A Centennial League victory over the visiting Trailblazers in boys basketball Wednesday.

Turner had three 3-pointers. Andre Marquez added 15 points. Gage Wooten had 14.

Aaron Marshall’s 17 for Overland paced all scorers. Alvin Hill-Stribling contributed 11.

Mullen 65, Cherokee Trail 45

The Mustangs boys, still attempting to climb above .500, ran to an early lead and held it against the first-year 5A Cougars in the Centennial.

Uriah Carter led Mullen (5-6, 2-1) with 16 points and Vonte Whitney added 14.

Austin Evans’ 14 paced Cherokee Trail (8-4, 0-3).

Cherry Creek 54, Arapahoe 48

The Bruins boys may have struggled to date, but they earned a solid victory in Greenwood Village over the Warriors in the Centennial.

Matt Rattner (14 points) and Austin Wilbers (11) paced the Bruins (4-8, 1-2). Tim Billingsley, recently eligible after transferring, led Arapahoe (8-4, 2-1) with 22.

Heritage 63, Fort Collins 57

The Eagles boys, with 43 second-half points, knocked down the Lambkins in Littleton in 5A nonleague play.

James Klemm (23 points) and Brandon Kaufman (12) led Heritage (4-4). Nate McAuliffe (20) and Austin Maag (18) powered Fort Collins (8-3).

George Washington 79, Rangeview 62

The host Patriots, 5A boys’ only undefeated team, controlled the Raiders in nonleague action.

Once again, George Washington was paced by Thomas Bropleh, who poured in 26 points. Tyrelle Millard (20) and Duvalier Johnson (12) added support. Trey Boykin’s 25 led Rangeview (3-9).

Arapahoe 70, Cherry Creek 65

The Warriors girls, who were without an injured Amy Barczuk down the stretch of the past season, are glad to have her back.

Barczuk’s 26 points lifted the Warriors (10-1, 3-0) over the Bruins in Centennial. Becky Bowman added 15 points and Kelsey Avery scored 10. Cherry Creek (6-5, 1-1) was led by Beril Eppard and Sami Springer, who each scored 17.

Fountain Valley 3, Lewis-Palmer 2

There are upsets and then there are just plain stunners.

First-year ice hockey program Fountain Valley scored a victory over Lewis-Palmer at the Air Force Academy.

The Danes (2-7) managed just six shots on goal, but made the most of them. Eli Karp scored two third-period goals and goalie Richard Church stopped 31 of the 33 shots he faced.

The Rangers (6-2) received a goal from Travis Lachner with two minutes to play.
