Getting your player ready...

What would you pay to drink with actress Anne Hathaway?

Three guys in L.A. recently ponied up $12,000 at a live auction for a night out with the actress. She promised “drinks somewhere fabulous and basically get you totally (sloshed). Tell me what I’m worth.”

Denver restaurant guy Jesse Morreale and gal pal Jerri Theil won’t have to plunk down that kind of cash to party with anyone this week. They’re on their way to Sundance for a throw-down with Hathaway and other actors who were in Denver during the Democratic National Convention with the Creative Coalition and partied nightly at Morreale’s joints.

“I can’t wait to see her again,” says Theil. “She’s so cool.”

They’re all staying at the same hotel, they’re due at a Martin Scorsese party Saturday night, and that’s just the beginning.

The Creative Coalition gang, a roster that includes the liberal likes of Spike Lee and Susan Sarandon, will then head to Washington, D.C., for their Tuesday night inaugural party. Morreale and Theil will attend that, along with 700 bold names and the Oprah contingent. They’ll also hit Monday night’s Colorado Ball with Denver’s Ellen Robinson Schwartz.

Spreading rumors.

Widespread Panic manager Buck Williams called Thursday to calm rumors that the band will return to the Pepsi Center for the next few New Year’s Eves. They might, he said, but, er, doubtful. He says some confusion might have arisen in that the band has a “hold” on the Eve at the Pepsi Center for a number of years.

I say Spreadheads should remain optimistic. Williams did say that they would not play Red Rocks this summer.

Mateo marriage.

Boulder star chef Matthew Jansen (Mateo and Radda) will wed Megan Siegel in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, on Jan. 31.

Friends and family 75 strong will fly south for the celebration. The bride is the daughter of Celestial Seasonings founder Mo Siegel and the sister of Sarah Magness, wife of cable heir Gary Magness.

Playing my songs.

Fleetwood Mac is booked for the Pepsi Center on May 10.

The Telluride Bluegrass lineup is just out — and it includes Elvis Costello, Emmylou Harris, Bela Fleck and Jerry Douglas’ 25th Bluegrass.

The Rockygrass lineup in Lyons includes Steve Earle & The Bluegrass Dukes, Hot Rize, and Earl Scruggs.

Cheyenne Frontier Days fans party tonight at the Brown Palace and ponder the summer lineup: George Straight, Sawyer Brown, Taylor Swift and Kenny Chesney.

And don’t miss the free Denver Mandolin Orchestra concerts at 7 p.m. the fourth Sunday of every month at Wynkoop Brewing Co.

City spirit.

Girls Night Out hits Sullivan’s at 6 p.m. Thursday. . . . My Big Fat Greek Roast will honor legendary Denver Broncos trainer Steve Antonopulos at Invesco Field at Mile High on March 14 — a funder for Dani’s Foundation. . . . Vail chef Anthony Mazza (Atwater @ Vail Cascade) came down to Denver for a PR tour, ended up at a Nuggets game and partying with Carmelo Anthony through the night. . . .
