COLORADO SPRINGS — A Colorado Springs-area school district board has voted to fire their superintendent amid allegations of sexual harassment and financial mismanagement.
The vote Saturday by the five-member Falcon School District Board begins the firing process of Superintendent Grant Schmidt, who has 10 days to respond to the allegations against him and request a hearing.
Schmidt told The Colorado Springs Gazette he wouldn’t comment because he hadn’t received paperwork outlining the charges against him. Schmidt has been superintendent for nine months. He remains on voluntary leave pending the inquiry.
Board members did not elaborate on the charges.
