A parole violator who bolted when police stopped a car he was riding in and eluded searchers who used dogs and a helicopter was arrested Saturday at his parents’ house in Fort Garland.

Jesse Sloan, 39, was wanted by the Colorado Department of Corrections for parole violation on original charges of escape and theft.

Sloan jumped from the car he was riding in on Jan. 13 when it was pulled over by Weld County Sheriff’s deputies and fled into a field.

Officers on Saturday found Sloan and his girlfriend, Lori McNitt, who had been driving the car, hiding in his parents’ house.

Authorities found the vehicle that had been involved in the traffic stop at a business in Alamosa where Sloan’s father worked.

McNitt was taken into custody for obstructing the investigation.

Investigators with the Fugitive Location and Apprehension Group found Sloan after they staked out various locations he was known to frequent.
