AMERICAN COLLEGE OF HEALTHCARE EXECUTIVES: Named Kevin Unger, president and chief executive of Poudre Valley Hospital, the nation’s top young health-care executive of the year. Unger will receive the 2009 Robert S. Hudgens Memorial Award during the ACHE’s annual conference in March.

DAVIS GRAHAM & STUBBS, THE DENVER BAR FOUNDATION AND THE DAVIS FAMILY: Presented the 2008 Richard Marden Davis Award to Mari Newman, a partner at Killmer Lane & Newman. The award is presented annually to a Denverite under age 40 who has combined excellence as a lawyer with civic, cultural, educational and charitable leadership in the tradition of Dick Davis early in his career.

SPECIALTY COFFEE ASSOCIATION OF AMERICA: Named Greg Lefcourt of Ozo Coffee Co. in Boulder the Mountain Regional Barista Champion.

FREEWAVE TECHNOLOGIES: Hired Ken Granader as vice president of sales.
