Getting your player ready...

Colorado State will be short three players, including team scoring leader Marcus Walker, tonight when the Rams host Air Force.

Walker, a senior guard who has been coming off the bench since mid-December, averages 15.2 points. Also missing is Harvey Perry, a 6-5 junior college transfer who has had a bigger role off the bench since Mountain West Conference play began.

Both are out pending the completion of academic requirements. Today is the first day of CSU’s spring semester. Typically academic shortfalls are revealed when the second semester begin.

While Walker and Perry may or may not return to the squad, CSU coach Tim Miles announced late this afternoon that reserve guard Josh Simmons is no longer with the team. Simmons, a sophomore guard, has averaged only seven minutes a game since the start of league play.

Miles said he would not comment on the players’ situations until after game.
