BROOMFIELD, Colo.—Broomfield police have arrested an 18-year-old man on suspicion of first-degree murder in the death of a 13-year-old girl whose body was found this week.
Police say Alexander “Alex” Paul Pacheco was arrested around 1 a.m. Saturday at a home in Lakewood in connection with the death of Kelsey Shannon.
Her decomposed body was found in a drainage ditch Wednesday. She had been reported as a missing endangered runaway on Oct. 14.
Police say Pacheco and Kelsey were acquaintances.
