Denver’s Smith Renaissance School of the Arts was shut today because of a water-main break in the area.
Smith, at 3590 Jasmine St., has about 245 students in early-education through fifth-grade classes. The school, and some nearby homes, are temporarily out of water because of the break.
The water pipe burst near East 36th Avenue and Kearney Street in northeast Denver, a Denver Water spokeswoman said.
The pipe could be back in service and the water turned on this afternoon, the spokeswoman said.
