Only someone from Arizona would dare complain about the weather that greeted the Steelers and Cardinals upon arrival in Tampa, Fla., on Monday afternoon. Yet that was what Cardinals coach Ken Whisenhunt did at the opening of his first Super Bowl news conference.
“It’s a little muggy here,” Whisenhunt said, hopefully in jest.
His players also seemed ill-prepared for the humidity inside the tent where interviews were conducted, and several used towels to wipe their faces.
But don’t feel bad for the Cardinals. Super Bowl organizers couldn’t have scripted better weather — upper 70s and nothing but sun — to start the festivities.
