NEW YORK — OppenheimerFunds Inc., a unit of Massachusetts Mutual Life Insurance Co., eliminated about 9 percent of its workers after bond returns tumbled and investors defected.
OppenheimerFunds fired about 220 of its 2,600 employees this week, Jeaneen Pisarra, a spokeswoman for the New York-based company, said Thursday. The cuts affect employees in Colorado, New York, Massachusetts and Pennsylvania, she said.
