A man was struck and killed by a car traveling north on U.S. 287 in Lafayette this afternoon. His name has not yet been released.
The driver, a 62-year-old Boulder woman, was transfered to the Exempla Good Samaritan Medical Center in Lafayette, according to a press release from the Lafayette Police Department. Police said she was driving a white Chrysler PT Cruiser.
According police, the unidentified man was not in the roadway when he was hit just north of South Boulder Road near a pedestrian crossbridge. He died of injuries after the PT Cruiser hit him on the right shoulder of the highway, the release said.
Authorities said they are still investigating the accident.
